THOMAS TAYLOR OF LONDON
Circa 1720
A rare walnut quarter repeating bracket clock of eight day duration by this well regarded
maker.
The walnut veneered bell top case stands 18 inches high excluding the brass handle. The style and proportions are
typical of the period.
The movement has a finely engraved backplate and is of eight day duration with verge escapement and rack
striking, sounding the hours on a bell and pull quarter repeat on six bells.
The time is displayed via the blued steel hands
to the engraved brass dial with rasied silvered chapter ring. A subsidiary dial to the arch is to adjust the rise and fall of
the pendulum and a date aperture completes the centre. There is a strike/not strike button to one side and a recessed signature
boss below the dial.
Fully serviced, regulated and offered with 12 months guarantee.
